Travel Medicines

Advice and treatment tailored to where you're going, not a one size fits all package.

Medication is only part of travel health

What you need depends on where you're going, how long for, and what you'll be doing there. A fortnight in a city hotel is a different risk profile to three weeks trekking. Your pharmacist works through your itinerary with you and advises on what is actually necessary, rather than selling you a standard package.

Everything is assessed individually. If something isn't needed for your trip, we will say so.

Malaria prevention

Risk varies enormously by region and season. We check your route against current guidance and advise on prevention, including bite avoidance and what to do if you develop symptoms while away.

Altitude sickness

For trips above 2,500m. We cover acclimatisation, the symptoms that matter, when to descend, and whether preventative treatment is appropriate for you.

Traveller's diarrhoea

Food and water precautions, rehydration, and standby treatment where you're heading somewhere remote or higher risk with limited access to care.

Period delay

A short consultation covering suitability, timing around your trip, and what to expect. Useful if your dates clash with something you'd rather they didn't.
