What is period delay treatment?

Period delay tablets allow you to temporarily postpone your period for a holiday, sporting event, religious occasion, wedding or any other important event. The treatment is safe, effective and widely used by women who want to avoid having their period at an inconvenient time.

Norethisterone is a synthetic form of progesterone that works by maintaining elevated progesterone levels, which prevents the shedding of the uterine lining and delays menstruation. Your period will typically return within a few days of stopping the tablets.

How do I take it?

Norethisterone is taken three times daily starting 3 days before your period is due. It can delay your period for up to 17 days. Your period will usually return 2 to 3 days after stopping the tablets.
